Terms and conditions of sale

This English translation is provided for information only. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Version of 3 November 2026

These terms and conditions of sale govern consultations booked online on the Site. Please read them carefully before placing any order.

Article 1 – Definitions

In these terms and conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:

  • “Site”: the website lazardflora-avocats.com;
  • “Firm”: LAZARD & FLORA ASSOCIÉS, an association of lawyers with individual professional liability (AARPI), whose registered office is at 6 rue Bleue, 75009 Paris, within which Maître Louis LAZARD and Maître Pauline FLORA, members of the Paris Bar, practise;
  • “Client”: any person who books a Consultation on the Site;
  • “Consumer”: any natural person acting for purposes outside their commercial, industrial, craft, professional or agricultural activity;
  • “Consultation”: the advisory appointment offered by the Firm, at the office or by video call, at the prices and on the terms displayed on the Site;
  • “Information request by phone”: the free fifteen (15) minute phone call offered on the Site, which does not constitute a Consultation;
  • “Order”: a request to book a Consultation on the Site, subject to confirmation by the Firm;
  • “RIN”: the National Internal Regulations of the legal profession (Règlement Intérieur National), available at cnb.avocat.fr.

Article 2 – Purpose and scope

These terms and conditions apply to any Order for a Consultation placed on the Site, to the exclusion of any other terms. The free information request by phone is not a Consultation: Articles 5, 6 and 8 (price, payment and withdrawal) do not apply to it.

They do not cover the handling of a case. If the Client instructs the Firm on a case following the Consultation, the engagement is governed by a separate fee agreement, entered into in accordance with Law no. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971 and the RIN, which specifies the billing method chosen (time spent, fixed fee, subscription).

The Firm may amend these terms and conditions at any time. The applicable terms are those in force on the date of the Order.

Article 3 – Acceptance

The Client acknowledges having read these terms and conditions and expressly accepts them by ticking the box provided for this purpose before confirming the Order.

Article 4 – Order and formation of the contract

On the Site, the Client chooses the desired Consultation, the lawyer they wish to speak with (or expresses no preference), then an available slot, enters their contact details and may briefly describe their situation and attach a few documents. The Client then confirms the Order, which constitutes an appointment request. It is the Client’s responsibility to check that the Order is correct before confirming it.

Each Order must be confirmed by the Firm. Until the confirmation has been sent to the Client, the Consultation is not confirmed and the Firm may change the proposed time, or even the lawyer, depending on the lawyers’ availability; the Client is informed of this by email. The contract is formed when the Client receives the Firm’s confirmation email. For a paid Consultation, confirming the Order by means of the button marked “Order with obligation to pay” entails an obligation to pay and takes the Client to the secure payment page. The Order is only passed on to the Firm once payment has been received. Payment does not constitute confirmation of the Consultation. Any Order placed on the Site constitutes a distance contract.

If the Firm cannot accept the Order at the requested time, it offers the Client another slot. Failing agreement, the Order is cancelled at no cost to the Client; any sum already paid is refunded in full as soon as possible, using the same means of payment.

The Firm may refuse or cancel an Order where handling it would involve a conflict of interest or breach a rule of professional conduct, or where the payment is not validated by the payment provider. The Client is then refunded in full for any sums already paid.

Article 5 – Price

The price of the Consultation is expressed in euros, including all taxes, and is the price displayed on the Site at the time of the Order. The Firm may change its prices at any time, without affecting Orders already confirmed.

The price of the Consultation covers the Consultation only. Subsequent services (drafting documents, negotiation, proceedings, etc.) are not included and are billed in accordance with the fee agreement entered into between the Firm and the Client.

Article 6 – Payment

The price of a paid Consultation is payable in full, online, when the Order is placed, by bank card, PayPal account or any other means of payment offered on the secure payment page. Payment is processed through the payment provider Stripe. The Firm does not have access to the Client’s bank details.

The Client expressly accepts that the Consultation will only be provided after payment of the price. Proof of payment is sent to the Client by email.

Article 7 – Conduct of the Consultation

The Consultation takes place on the date and at the time confirmed by the Firm and in the format booked: at the office, at the address given in the confirmation email; by video call, using the link sent by email before the appointment. The information request by phone takes place on the date and at the time confirmed by the Firm, which calls the Client on the number given when booking.

The Consultation does not extend beyond the booked duration, unless the Firm agrees otherwise. The Firm undertakes to carry it out diligently and in accordance with professional standards, it being specified that it is bound by an obligation of means and not of result. The Client undertakes to provide accurate and complete information.

The brief description of their situation and the attachments that the Client may send with the Order (five at most) are covered by the professional secrecy that binds lawyers and their staff. The Client is asked to attach only the documents relevant to the examination of their request, the substance of the case being discussed during the Consultation.

Article 8 – Right of withdrawal

The Consumer has fourteen (14) days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to give reasons or pay penalties (Article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code). The Consumer exercises this right by sending the Firm, at contact@lazardflora-avocats.com, an unequivocal statement of their decision to withdraw.

Where the Consultation is to take place before this period expires, the Client expressly requests, by ticking the box provided for this purpose before confirming the Order, that performance begin before the end of the withdrawal period (Article L.221-25 of the French Consumer Code).

If the Client withdraws after the Firm has already begun work (reviewing the request and documents sent, preparation, holding the Consultation), that work remains payable: it is billed and retained by the Firm in proportion to the service provided up to the communication of the decision to withdraw. The Firm refunds any balance within fourteen (14) days, using the same means of payment.

The right of withdrawal can no longer be exercised once the Consultation has been fully performed, where performance began with the Client’s prior express consent and waiver of this right (Article L.221-28, 1°, of the French Consumer Code).

A model withdrawal form is provided below; its use is not mandatory.

Article 9 – Cancellation, rescheduling and refund

The Client may cancel, at any time and at no cost, an Order that the Firm has not yet confirmed; the price already paid is then refunded in full. For organisational reasons, confirmed appointments cancelled less than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled time are non-refundable: the consultation fee remains due to the Firm, except in duly substantiated cases of force majeure and without prejudice to the right of withdrawal provided for in Article 8.

The Firm reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment in the event of unforeseen unavailability. In that case, the Client is refunded in full for the consultation fee already paid, or is offered a new slot at no extra cost.

Article 10 – Personal data

The Client’s personal data are processed by the Firm, as data controller, to manage the Order, the Consultation, payment and invoicing. Their processing, the Client’s rights and retention periods are described in the Site’s privacy policy. The use of cookies is described on the Cookie settings page.

Article 11 – Liability

The Firm is not liable for interruptions or malfunctions of the Site or of the Client’s means of communication (connection, equipment, email). The general information published on the Site does not constitute personalised legal advice.

Article 12 – Language and governing law

These terms and conditions are drawn up in French and governed by French law. In addition to any of the courts having territorial jurisdiction under the Code of Civil Procedure, the Consumer may, at their choice, bring proceedings before the court of the place where they lived at the time the contract was concluded or the harmful event occurred (Article R.631-3 of the French Consumer Code).

Article 13 – Dispute resolution

In the event of a problem, the Client is asked first to send a written complaint to the Firm at contact@lazardflora-avocats.com.

Failing an amicable solution, the Consumer may refer the matter, free of charge, to the consumer mediator for the legal profession, in accordance with Articles L.612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code.
